The Maryland Chapter offers scholarship and fellowship opportunities in furtherance of its mission to promote the profession of landscape architecture statewide through advocacy, education, communication, and fellowship.
The Executive Board and Scholarship Committee of MDASLA are pleased to announce the following recipients for the 2023-2024 Scholarship + Fellowship. The committee is grateful for the record-breaking number of applications and had the hard task of reviewing and selecting three outstanding candidates. Thanks to all who submitted this year! Each of these recipients has demonstrated their academic excellence, student engagement, and furthering the profession.
This year's scholarship recipients are:
(Left) UMD Scholarship Winner: Caleb Austin, Bachelor of Landscape Architecture, Class of 2025, University of Maryland
(Middle) Morgan State Scholarship Winner: Jen Plaskowitz, Master of Landscape Architecture, Class of 2025, Morgan State University
(Right) Fellowship Winner: Gabrielle Shelton, Bachelor of Landscape Architecture, Class of 2024, University of Maryland
We are excited to support these students in the endeavors of becoming the next generation of Landscape Architects and advocates for our profession. Additionally, we look forward to seeing our Fellowship Winner’s project come together. Gabrielle’s project is focused on creating a Middle School curriculum and engaging with possibly the next generation of landscape architects. Congratulations to all! Look out for our next round of applications this Fall.
