
Baltimore, Maryland – March 6, 2025
The Maryland Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) is proud to announce the recipients of its 2025 scholarships, recognizing outstanding students who have demonstrated exceptional academic achievement, leadership, and a passion for the field of landscape architecture.
This year’s MDASLA scholarship recipients are:
Maliyah Hatchell, University of Maryland, College Park
Parth Patel, Morgan State University
Tiara Rachman, University of Maryland, College Park
Additionally, Maryland ASLA is pleased to present the Mahan Rykiel Diversity in Landscape Architecture Scholarship, a $2,500 award established to recognize Mahan Rykiel’s history as a Women’s Business Enterprise/Minority Business Enterprise (WBE/MBE) over the past 40+ years. This scholarship celebrates diversity and supports women and/or minority students pursuing a degree in landscape architecture. This year's recipient is:
Isabel Cedeno Rodriguez, University of Maryland, College Park
The Maryland ASLA Scholarship Program is dedicated to supporting the next generation of landscape architects by providing financial assistance to students pursuing degrees in accredited landscape architecture programs. The scholarship recipients were selected based on their academic excellence, innovative design work, and commitment to advancing the profession.
“We are thrilled to support these talented students as they continue their journey in landscape architecture,” said Michael Pullano, President of Maryland ASLA. “Their dedication to sustainability, creativity, and community engagement reflects the core values of our profession, and we look forward to seeing their future contributions.”
The scholarships will be formally awarded at the Maryland ASLA Awards Gala on May 6th, where the recipients will be honored for their achievements.
